Straddle

Derivatives & Futures
An options strategy involving simultaneous purchase of a call and put option at the same strike price and expiration, profiting from large price moves in either direction. Straddles are used when expecting high volatility.
Example: Buying a call and put at the $100 strike profits whether the stock moves to $80 or $120.
